Description
This very fun whimsey biscuit jar was purchased in the English countryside while antiquing in 1972. It was considered old at that time. It is in lovely condition with a very sturdy whicker handle. There are lumps and bumps in the porcelain because this is casual pottery not fine china. I must mention, there are two divots in the inside rim of the jar that I'm not altogether certain are chips - but just a blip in manufacturing because they are glazed over (see photo #12). On the other hand it could be a very good repair. Either way it's notnoticeable
and does not effect the integrity of the canister. The lid rim is free from blemishes. There are no chips, nicks, or crazing on this piece. A biscuit jar is smaller than a traditional American cookie jar; but your little jelly center cookies, or your favorite shortbread, or powdered sugar tea cakes will be right at home!
